Hi, I'm Morgan. I'm a trail/ultrarunner, writer, coach, and therapist in Missoula, Montana. Join me in exploring our edges on the trail and beyond—with radical self-love, determination, and curiosity every step of the way.

What is The Self-Love Runner Newsletter?

Over the years, running has become a best friend to me, a companion, a confidant, and a source of healing and empowerment. It challenges us, shows us what we're capable of, and then asks if we have more to give.

It can also be triggering, revealing parts of ourselves that need extra love or attention.

In that way, I think it's one of the most incredible lenses for exploring the depths of the human experience, both personal and collective, on the trail and beyond.

I love writing about the relationship between running and things like self-love and compassion, our relationship to food and our bodies, LGBTQIA+ advocacy and diversity in the sport, mental health and wellness, intuitive training, community and belonging, and more.

From the mundane (long runs and race reports) to the mystical (how ultras are kind of like psychedelic experiences, or how we can heal our inner child through training), The Self-Love Runner Newsletter is a space for it all.

If you're a fellow trail/mountain person, a wellness professional (counselors, nutritionists, coaches, etc.), or just someone who appreciates philosophy, psychology, or spirituality, I think you'll feel right at home here.

Why subscribe?

Subscribing just means you’ll get each piece I write sent to your inbox as an email, so you never miss a post. I promise never to market or spam you; this is a sacred, dedicated place to write in greater length on the things I care about (above).

Can we build a community?

I’ve had a love-hate relationship with social media (and any online personal platform, really) for a while now, but I keep coming back because of YOU. I enjoy writing about the vulnerable, deep, meaningful things in life (especially through the lens of running), and each time I wonder if it’s worthwhile, one of you messages or reaches out to tell me, “Thank you. I needed that.” Or you say, “I didn’t know how to describe that feeling; I thought I was alone.” Or, “You showed me that I can love running, too.”

I want this space to keep fueling that fire, and I hope you all feel welcome and empowered here. I’d be totally over the moon if you respond to emails, comment on posts, or otherwise reach out to share your reactions, feelings, hopes, dreams, and challenges, too. That’s what makes this world so special, and I welcome it with open arms.
